Grist Mill

Here is a side view of the mill I built. The base was an typewriter table that I narrowed. The top is 3/16" diamond plate aluminum donated by Larry. Bill made to hopper out of sheet metal. Chuck donated the 1/4 HP 1750 RPM motor.

Drive pulley is 2" while the driven is 12". This gets the rollers spinning at 292 RPM. At this rate it crushes 10 pounds per minute. Or 292 cranks per 10 pounds. Boy am I glad it has a motor! I brew 10 gallon batches that would be 584 revolutions of the crank. Whew, time for a homebrew.
