Oxy-Acetylene Gas Welder

This is where my freshly pitched wort gets its oxygen. I have added an extra valve after the oxygen regulator. To this I have a aquarium air manifold attached. Two 1/8 inch ID by 24 inch pieces of glass tubing are connected to the manifold. At the end of each piece of tubing a plastic aquarium diffuser is attached with short lengths of vinyl tubing.

After the wort exits the CF Chiller I split it evenly between two 6.5 gallon carboys. Once the carboys are filled I insert a sanitized aeration wand into each. The oxygen is turned on (at very low pressure) so that it takes several minutes for the one gallon of head space to fill with foam.

Equal parts of starter are pitched into each carboy. Then I cross my fingers.
